Wrapping up 2010.

My wonderful hubby and I are in our new home!! We are all unpacked and settled. I have been stitching  bunch lately!!

My sister is staying with my Aunt about 2 hours away, although not the most comfortable fit its stable and she is working a full time job!! She is saving money and is hoping to eventually save enough to get her own place here again. I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying many prayers for her!

Christmas is here! I can't believe it already, man when I was a kid it took FOREVER for Christmas to arrive now I blink and its here!!

For Christmas, man I work most of the holiday I am going to my in laws on Christmas day after sleeping a bit from working all night. Then later that night my sister will come and stay at our new home and we are going to cook a Christmas dinner on Sunday. Start our own traditions. I have invited my dad.....

I lost the stitchy bug for a while during this summer, but I have been stitching a lot lately. I will post a pic of my progress on here at the end of this post. When I finish the bless this home project I will start on my Starry Night kit made my lady bug designs I am so exctited and nervous to start such a large project.

My fingers are crossed will you cross your for me too?

My hubby and I put in an offer on a house!!
We had been looking at houses on line my cosin in and agent so he is our buyer agent. Long story short he had sent us some current listings my sister was looking at one with me and was like look at this one...I was afriad it wasn't in our price range but fell in love. Then the day we are looking at houses in person. My agent tells me I have a house you need to see, its priced a little more than you guys were looking at but, its a movtivated seller and I think you could get a good deal. So we go to look at the house...and its the one I fell in love with!!  Two days later we are pre approved for a loan...and put in an offer. My agent told us to bid under what we were willing to give so that we had some negotiation room. Well he calls us that evening and says that he has good news and bad news. The good news was that there is a pretty good chance we will get the house at the low bid...the bad news was that is make take a few months to clear. Apparently after our offer...the owner has decided to do a short sale. Which takes a few months to process. So its a long few months of waiting. But..on a side note there were renters in the house so we would of been required to give them three months notice anyways. So now I don't have to feel guilty asking someone to leave where they are living!! So my fingers are crossed I will try to update as I know.

This has also given me a reason to catch up on my SAL "my little heart" so that I can work on the bless this home for hopefully our new home!!

I am so stoked I am afraid to get my hopes up.

I have worked 9 days of the last 14. So I haven't been able to volunteer much, I miss it but know it will be there soon!!

Whoops!--well not really

Well it has been a long while since I have written. So Sorry!
I have been really busy! I love my new job and.....my sister has moved back near me. We have been making up for a lot of lost time, and I love it!! Plus I have a friend who is soon to move about 1 hour and 30 minutes away so we are spending a lot of time before she leaves. It is a positive move or at least she really feels this is what she needs to do so I am very happy for her.

So enough excuses, and on to stitching!! I finally finished my today is not your day project and in face am working on the My Little Heart SAL Stitch along that I found through the Cross Stitch Forum. I have been stitching during down time at work. I have to say though that a lot of my off time I think is going to be going to something other than stitching even though I enjoy it!!

A guy I went to high school with...over the last two years has started a homeless day shelter and I have been volunteering time there! I can't even start to explain how great it is to feel like you are giving back to your community! I mean I have only been there for two days and have been only driving the founder and one of the clients around trying to help him find an apartment. So far this organization has assisted about 40 people go from living in the woods in tents to living in homes with incomes and being pretty much self sufficient. Its great!!

For the first time in a long time...it seems like EVERYTHING is falling into place. I have a job I love...as well as my hubby, my sister is back with her family here...my step-mom and I are finally getting along!! Even growing closer. My hubby and I are planing to buy a house soon and start trying for babies. I am finally in somewhat of a position to give back even though I'm not giving money I am giving time...

I keep waiting for the anvil to fall. :) I am truly blessed!!

Well Well!

When I was in nursing school. I worked on a inpatient rehab unit (not drug rehab but physical therapy rehab). When I finished nursing school I was not hired for two reasons, one they did not have any positions open and the nurse manager stated that she did not hire new grads that she wanted them to have other experiences first. Well after I had my conversation with my boss. I talked to my hubby, about where I would go. Rehab was a first thought, but they never have a full time position open. Guess what...they did. I applied....I interviewed then did a second interview...and got hired!!!! My first day there is the 26th of this month. So as of now I only have 9 days left in the ER. I am excited!!

I did not get to do a lot of stitching, a friend of mine is going through some rough stuff and have spent a lot of time over here...she and her boyfriend have broken up. She doesn't want to be alone...so she has been hanging out here a lot. Which is fine but I did not get to stitch.

Change!

Change has a considerable psychological impact on the human mind. To the fearful it is threatening because it means that things may get worse. To the hopeful it is encouraging because things may get better. To the confident it is inspiring because the challenge exists to make things better.
                                                                  ~King Whitney Jr.~~
Well...How to start. I love my job in ER, but I have not been happy for a while. After much prayer for signs on whether or not the ER is right for me. I had a conversation with my boss and we both agree that ER is not the place for me. My pride is hurt buuttt it is something I have none for a while. I had an interview today with a lady I used to work for. NOw I will be going back for a sort of second interview with charge nurses from the night shift. *Crosses Fingers* I have worked on this unit before as a nurse tech and loved it!!!!! I really miss these patients and the people that work there. This am while waiting for the boss to get out of a meeting for our interview. Everyone spoke to me and were asking when I was coming back I told them that I was hoping to and that is why I was there. I am very excited and trying to look at this as a positive change. I am thanking God that I have a fair boss even know who is working with me while I look for a job instead of terminating me!!
I am more than half way done with my sisters project!! I will post pics soon. I am going to start a project called my heart it is a monthly SAL with a different picture for each month with a heart on it...wow my description makes no sense..I am about to start some stitching now while waiting for my calbe guy to come and fix our cable BLAH.

First Time For everything!

Wow this is my first blog and first blog post!!

I have started this blog just for fun, I am very excited to post update pictures and just updates in general. I have no idea who if anyone will follow me and to be honest I am not doing this for followers :).

I am new to Cross Stitch and have become an immediate addict hence the name Stitchaholic. I am also a Stashaholic in the making!!

I am happily married for about a year and a half now. I am very lucky to be married to my best friend, even though we get on each others nerves at times. I don't know what I would do without my DH! Plus he is very understanding and even encouraging about my newest cross stitch habbit!! Who could ask for more??
I am a nurse in a local ER. I love my job...the majority of the time..sure I have nights that are bad but never bad enough to make me hate my job. A few days off and I am ready for more!

Currently I am working on a project for my big sister. I have decided to send her a care package, she is going through a rough time now and lives to far for a "quick pick her up visit" I have made a daisy item for her. Daisies were our mothers favorite flower. They have since become ours as well. Any time I see a daisy I think of both my mom and sister.
I also am stitching a saying about I can please one person a day, today is not your day and tomorrow is not looking great either. I thought this would be great for her desk at work considering she is in a call center doing customer service. (Hope her super lets her display it..you can't see it over the phone after all right?)

So far a lot of my projects have been very simple. But I enjoy them and that is all that matters!!
I hope anyone reading my blog enjoys what they see. Feel free to leave comments. If you ever have any questions I will try my best to help but can not promise anything!!
